Sara Um

Dr. Sara Um currently serves as a Doctoral Advisor at GW, mentoring doctoral candidates on applied machine learning research and practical AI systems. Dr. Um brings a diverse professional background spanning biomedical research, data analytics, and business development.

Her research interests lie at the intersection of AI fairness, model evaluation, and multimodal models.

Dr. Um holds a Doctor of Engineering in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning from GW, a Master of Science in Data Analytics Engineering from George Mason University, and a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from Virginia Commonwealth University.
