Dr. Rebecca Yassan, D.Eng., P.E., is a professorial lecturer for the Online Engineering Programs at the George Washington University in Washington, DC. She is currently the Real Property Program Manager at the Department of Energy’s Argonne National Laboratory, where she is responsible for a portfolio of systems in support of facilities and infrastructure operations. She is a registered professional mechanical engineer in Illinois, a certified project management professional, a certified energy manager, and a LEED-accredited professional. Dr. Yassan has over 20 years of experience in both the government and commercial sectors. Her expertise lies in managing large mechanical construction projects and driving organizational process improvements, while also ensuring data accuracy within facilities management software applications.

Her current affiliations include the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), the Society of Women Engineers (SWE), and the Project Management Institute (PMI). Her research interests are in facilities, operations, maintenance management, and optimization.

Dr. Yassan holds a Doctor of Engineering in Engineering Management from GW, an MEng in Energy Engineering from the University of Illinois at Chicago, and a BS in Chemical Engineering with a minor in Chemistry from Purdue University.
