Dr. Ravi Mallarapu is a professorial lecturer for the Online Engineering Programs at The George Washington University. He has nearly three decades of hands-on industry experience building AI-driven trading systems, cybersecurity platforms, and large-scale IT engineering solutions. He currently heads AI-driven Systematic Trading and Quantitative Research at Blockchain.com, leading the development of algorithmic trading strategies and reinforcement-learning-based risk systems for digital assets. He also advises the NATO Collective Cyber Defense Center and EigenCloud.xyz on advanced cybersecurity operations, automation, and incident response. His recent work bridges applied AI, cloud security, and behavioral analytics, using reinforcement learning to detect insider threats and designing secure communication frameworks for large-scale data environments.

Previously, Dr. Mallarapu served as Chief Architect and later Technology Fellow at Bridgewater Associates, where he pioneered secure AWS migration frameworks for top-secret trading logic and co-developed more than 20 publicly released AWS security features. Earlier, he led infrastructure and cybersecurity engineering at D. E. Shaw & Co., where he built the trading and research infrastructure supporting high-frequency operations. At GWU, his doctoral research focused on reinforcement learning methods for autonomous threat response in complex systems, combining academic modeling with real-world cyber defense. He later turned this research into a commercial product.
