Dr. Rebecca Yassan, D.Eng., P.E., is a professorial lecturer for the Online Engineering Programs at the George Washington University in Washington, DC. She is currently the Project Functional Management Department Head within the Project Management Office at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. She leads multiple functional organizations, including Design and Engineering, Construction Management, Project Controls, Estimating, and Technical and Professional Services, to execute and deliver LLNL's extensive portfolio of construction projects.

Dr. Yassan is a registered professional mechanical engineer, a certified project management professional, a certified energy manager, and a LEED-accredited professional. With over two decades of experience spanning both government and commercial sectors, she possesses extensive expertise in managing large-scale construction projects and leading organizational process enhancements.

She is affiliated with the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), the Society of Women Engineers (SWE), and the Project Management Institute (PMI). Her research interests focus on project management, facilities, operations, maintenance management, and optimization.

Dr. Yassan earned her Doctor of Engineering in Engineering Management from George Washington University, a Master of Engineering in Energy Engineering from the University of Illinois at Chicago, and a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering with a minor in Chemistry from Purdue University.
