Dr. Afsar Ali serves as an Advisor for George Washington University, mentoring doctoral students. He earned his Doctor of Engineering in Engineering Management from George Washington University. His research specializes in urban mobility and algorithmic optimization, specifically focusing on optimizing robotaxi deployment.
Bridging rigorous academics with the private sector, Dr. Ali is a Data Scientist at Uber, where he leads A.I. architecture and strategy for Global Business Intelligence. Prior to this, he served as a Business Intelligence Leader at Amazon and founded PrintXmed, a biomedical 3D printing company. A U.S. Air Force veteran, Dr. Ali actively contributes to civic and institutional leadership. He serves as the Global Co-Chair of the Vets@Uber Employee Resource Group, sits on the Economic Development Commission for the City of Richmond, California, and acts as the Board President for the Marina Bay Northshore HOA. Dr. Ali also holds a joint MBA and M.S. in Business Analytics from Seattle University.
