Dr. Joshua R. Fullerton is an Adjunct Professor for the Online Engineering Programs at the George Washington University in Washington, DC.   He is also the deputy mission area executive for Homeland Defense at the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory where he leads a broad portfolio of homeland defense programs delivering research and development of technology solutions for the protection of the nation and its critical infrastructure. Prior to his current role, Dr. Fullerton served as the assistant program area manager for Strategic Missile Defense, where he led the development of capabilities for the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) to counter missile threats to the homeland. His previous leadership positions include chief engineer and lead systems engineer for complex missile defense flight testing as well as technical adviser to senior U.S. Navy and MDA leaders. Dr. Fullerton is a Career Mentoring Fellow with the American Physical Society and has served as a member of the International Council on Systems Engineering International Symposium Technical Review Committee. Dr. Fullerton earned B.S. degrees in physics and applied mathematics from Auburn University, an M.S. in physics from the University of Alabama in Huntsville, and a D.Eng. in engineering management from George Washington University.
