Dr. Matt Grofsky is an adjunct professor and doctoral advisor in the School of Engineering and Applied Science at The George Washington University, where he brings more than 25 years of leadership experience in technology and cybersecurity. His career spans telecommunications, SaaS, and healthcare, with a focus on security strategy, engineering leadership, and applied innovation. He currently serves as Chief Information Security Officer at Sharpen Technologies. Previously, he served as Chief Technology Officer at Ytel, Inc., where he oversaw cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, and AI/ML integration. His research interests include natural language processing, AI-driven threat modeling, and democratizing cybersecurity capabilities for organizations of all sizes. Dr. Grofsky holds a Doctor of Engineering in Cybersecurity Analytics and a Master of Engineering in Cybersecurity Policy and Compliance from The George Washington University, as well as a Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, Irvine. He is also a CISSP.
