Dr. Kiran Mehta is an engineering leader with over 25 years of experience in large-scale data systems and artificial intelligence. In executive roles at MapR, Informatica, and Alluxio, Dr. Mehta led the productization of emerging architectures into petabyte-scale, mission-critical data platforms. These platforms support high-performance AI workloads at Fortune 500 companies to build novel, market-differentiating offerings.
Early in his career at IBM Almaden Research Laboratory, IBM Toronto Laboratory, and Red Brick Systems, Dr. Mehta honed his expertise in the foundations of data management. Dr. Mehta holds a Doctor of Engineering in AI and Machine Learning from George Washington University, a Master of Engineering in Electrical Engineering from McGill University, and a Bachelor of Technology in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi.
Dr. Mehta currently serves as a doctoral research advisor and instructor at George Washington University, while advising and coaching startups and shaping industry-academic benchmarks. He represents a unique combination of deep technical roots and a strong commitment to mentoring the next generation of technical professionals.
A resident of the San Francisco Bay Area, Dr. Mehta mixes his technical pursuits with a dedicated interest in community service and personal enrichment.
