Dr. Karen M. Heine is an adjunct professor for the Online Engineering Program at The George Washington University. As the founder, program manager, and systems engineer, she works at Marieke Consulting, Inc. Karen has dedicated over 25 years to supporting the Federal Aviation Administration, specializing in developing software for enterprise-wide financial and project management applications. She has also run her company for over 20 years, serving as the lead for multiple task orders and teams.

Dr. Heine earned a D.Eng. in Engineering Management from The George Washington University in 2021, a M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Tech in 2000, and a B.S. in Systems Engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1994. She is a PMI Project Management Professional and is a lifetime member of the Tau Beta Pi and Phi Kappa Phi honor societies.
