Dr. Espree

Dr. Espree currently serves as a Cyber Officer in the U.S. Navy and as a Senior Cyber Engineer at Cynalytica, Inc. He brings more than 15 years of experience spanning government, academia, and the private sector. His professional work focuses on cyber operations, enterprise security, vulnerability research, and cloud security, with particular emphasis on applying artificial intelligence and machine learning to improve security operations, strengthen resilience, and address evolving threats. His research interests include bioinformatics-inspired approaches to malware classification using machine learning and AI architectures, as well as statistical learning methods for hallucination detection in generative AI deployed in security systems.

Dr. Espree holds a Doctor of Engineering in Cybersecurity Analytics from The George Washington University, a Master of Science in Cybersecurity from Excelsior University, and a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology from the University of Houston. He is currently pursuing a Master of Computer Science at Rice University.
