Jennifer Clift, D.Eng.

Dr. Jennifer Clift is an Adjunct Professor for the Online Engineering Programs at the George Washington University in Washington, DC.  She has 30 years of experience with the Department of Defense and is currently a Senior Scientific Technical Manager and Department Head at the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division.  Prior to this role, she was the Center’s Chief Technology Officer, where she led the strategic direction of science and technology across a diverse technical portfolio.

She has expertise in several domains, including acquisition, homeland defense, cybersecurity, asymmetric systems, intelligent automation, electromagnetics and sensor systems. 

Her research interests span systems engineering, organizational strategy, engineering management, and the application of machine learning and predictive modeling to support technology transition, data analysis, and systems optimization.

Dr. Clift holds a Doctor of Engineering in Engineering Management from GWU, a MS in Engineering Systems from the Naval Postgraduate School, a MA in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Mary Washington.
