Dr. Mehdi Hashemipour is an Adjunct Professor for the Online Engineering Programs at The George Washington University in Washington, DC. Dr. Hashemipour holds a Ph.D. in Systems Engineering from The George Washington University. His research spans various domains including Operations Research, Simulation Modeling, Decision Support Systems, Reinforcement Learning, Robotics, Geospatial Intelligence, Deep Learning, and Machine Learning. With over 15 years of experience, Dr. Hashemipour has played a crucial role in assisting organizations to develop DW/BI/AI and big data systems. Currently, he is the Chief Data Scientist at the U.S. DOT under the Office of the Assistant Secretary. In this role, he pioneers the development of transformative national-scale big data and AI solutions, leveraging advancements in Cloud Computing and Big Data, DL/ML, Generative AI, DevOps, MLOps, and AIOps.
