Curtis E. Larsen, Ph.D., P.E., is an adjunct professor for the Online Engineering Programs at The George Washington University.

Dr. Larsen previously taught at Texas Christian University as a Professor of Professional Practice in the Department of Engineering.  He served over 20 years with NASA, primarily in Systems Integration and Engineering with the Space Shuttle and International Space Station Programs, and ultimately as the NASA Technical Fellow for Loads and Dynamics at the NASA Engineering and Safety Center.  In his 40-plus years of engineering practice, he has also worked in offshore and onshore structural engineering, forensic and consulting engineering.

Dr. Larsen graduated from the University of North Dakota with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and a Master of Engineering (Civil structures/soils).  He earned his Doctor of Philosophy from Rice University as the Exxon Teaching Fellow in Civil Engineering.  He was awarded the NASA Exceptional Service Medal, the Astronaut Corps’ Silver Snoopy Award, a Space Flight Awareness Launch Honoree Award, a Superior Accomplishment Award, and numerous performance and group achievement awards.  Dr. Larsen is an Associate Member of Sigma Xi, an Associate Fellow of the AIAA, and a Registered Professional Engineer in Texas.
