Ben Stirgwolt, Ph.D.

Dr. Ben Stirgwolt is an Adjunct Professor for the Online Engineering Programs at The George Washington University in Washington, DC. He has over 12 years of systems engineering experience in the aerospace and defense industry. Dr. Stirgwolt serves as the Director of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) at Belcan, an engineering services company, and is responsible for MBSE strategy, capability development, and delivery of model-based solutions to meet customers’ growing needs in digital transformation across industries. Research interests include system architecture development, modularization, and multidisciplinary design optimization.

. Dr. Stirgwolt holds a PhD in Systems Engineering from GW, a Master of Engineering in Systems Engineering from Penn State University, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from Purdue University
