Alexis Starr, D.Eng.

Dr. Alexis Starr is an Adjunct Professor for the Online Engineering Programs at The George Washington University in Washington, DC. Dr. Starr has over 10 years of experience in advanced analytics, machine learning, natural language processing, big data, and IT modernization. Dr. Starr is a Senior Financial Data Scientist at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. In her role, she leads the Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Community of Practice and also serves on the Generative AI review board.

Dr. Starr holds a D.Eng in Engineering Management from The George Washington University, a M.S. in Environmental Science with an emphasis on biophysical systems for Louisiana State University, and a B.S. in Coastal and Environment Sciences from Louisiana State University.
